Biography

Dr. Dubois is an Emeritus Professor in the School of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Ottawa. She was the Canada Research Chair in Nutrition and Population Health from 2003 to 2008, and the Program Director of the PhD in Population Health from 2010 to 2013. Dr. Dubois received her Bachelor of Science (nutrition) degree from the University of Montreal and a Ph.D. (sociology) degree from Laval University.

Dr. Dubois' research interests include the study of risk factors (genes, social factors, nutrition) related to childhood obesity. Her research is mainly based on birth cohort data (singletons, twins). Over the years, she has been a member of various scientific advisory committees, including a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute of Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes of the Canadian Institute of Health Research (2003-2009). She does collaborative research work on the topic of nutrition, genetics, child development and obesity with researchers from different countries.
