Biography

Sarah Brandigampola, MD FRCPC Psychiatry, is a Staff Psychiatrist at The Ottawa Hospital. Her clinical practice is based at the First Episode Psychosis Program as well as the Shared Mental Health Care Program. She is a Lecturer at the University of Ottawa, as well as the current curriculum lead for the Transition to Discipline curriculum for PGY1s and Interview Skills curriculum for PGY2s.  

Sarah completed her medical school and Psychiatry Residency at the University of Ottawa. During residency, she was Chief Resident as well as Vice-President of the Resident Executive Committee. Prior to medical school, she graduated with an Honours degree in Cellular Biology & Development at Western University (London, Ontario) and was the recipient of the Western Gold Medal for graduating top of her class.  

Sarah has held a variety of teaching, supervision, and leadership roles at The Ottawa Hospital and University of Ottawa. She has been recognized for her work with awards in psychotherapy, health advocacy, and education. Her interests include: Severe & Persistent Mental Illness, Trauma, Collaborative Care, Social Justice and Advocacy, Education, and Psychotherapy. She is grateful to be working with wonderful, collaborative multi-disciplinary teams, and the opportunity to work with and teach medical students and residents.
