Accreditation update

On January 15, 16 and 17, 2024, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS) will have the honour of welcoming the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) to the Roger-Guindon campus.

The purpose of the visit is to evaluate the School’s undergraduate Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program, which was inaugurated and welcomed its first students in August 2023.

The CCAPP is an organization that accredits pharmacy academic programs and sets standards. Accreditation is the public recognition accorded to a professional program that meets established professional qualifications and educational standards through initial and periodic evaluation.

Obtaining this accreditation is essential for the recognition of graduates and is intended to promote improvement in the quality of training and learning; an important step in making the University of Ottawa PharmD program a reality.
