Event details

More than 18 months into a devastating war, the Danyliw Foundation and the Chair of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Ottawa is inviting you to the 17th Annual Danyliw Seminar on Ukraine at War. The three-day event (September 28-30) will bring together 40 international guests, including 18 from Ukraine. The seminar the largest in-person academic conference on Ukraine in the world.

Topics addressed in presentations will range from civilians and warfare, mass displacement, genocide, geopolitics, Russia-Ukraine-Europe, reconstruction, the memory of World War II, trauma, media and culture in wartime, and the transformation of identities.

Three special events: a conversation on Serhii Plokhy’s new book The Russo-Ukrainian War, and the screening of two new documentaries: Eastern Front (2023), on a medical battalion in the 2022 war, and We Will Not Fade Away (2023), on Donbas youth on a frontline town.
