Raouf Farrah, a distinguished alumnus of the Faculty of Social Sciences and a rising leader in social science research in Africa, will share his inspiring journey from uOttawa to the forefront of the continent’s research and activism. With a robust multidisciplinary academic foundation and extensive professional experience, Raouf has cultivated a unique perspective that fuels his impactful career and unwavering commitment to justice and freedom for communities

Currently holding a prominent position at the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime, Raouf focuses on critical issues such as illicit economies, migration, and the intersection of conflict and human rights in North Africa and the Sahel. Driven by a commitment to evidence-based policy, practical solutions, and integrating decolonial and critical approaches in Africa, he addresses some of the world’s most pressing challenges with determination and insight.
