Event information

Dr. Daniel Stockemer, Konrad Adenauer Research Chair in Empirical Democracy Studies at the University of Ottawa, will explore the relationship between age, populist attitudes, and belief in conspiracy theories.

Through his insights, Dr. Stockemer will address key questions, such as: How prevalent are populist attitudes among different age cohorts? Who are the youth, who believe in populist attitudes? Are populist attitudes a trigger for conspiracy theories? And is this connection especially pronounced among young people? With a focus on Germany and Canada, the talk will reveal thought-provoking findings.

Following Dr. Stockemer's presentation, Senator McPhedran will join in a discussion on the challenges and opportunities youth face in navigating today’s complex political landscapes. The event will be followed by a networking dinner, with light refreshments served. Don’t miss this compelling exploration of a timely and impactful topic.
