Studying the world in the field

Placements, exchanges, and field research courses — we offer everything our students need to discover the world through their programs.

The Faculty has allocated approximately $146,000 to managing and funding activities abroad to benefit our students.

Field research courses

Field research courses take place every summer. Under the guidance of Faculty professors, participants venture abroad to delve into a problem in the host country and conduct supervised field research. Since the summer of 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these courses are offered online. Despite this, these courses provide a unique opportunity to meet with stakeholders on the ground, get to know the key organizations, and consolidate knowledge of research tools in the field.

In summer 2021, 72 bachelor’s and master’s students will take part in one of the following  field research courses:

  • Germany – Germany 30 years after reunification: Revisit the Past, Experience the Present, Imagine the Future (Virtual graduate level course in English)
