Hubert Marleau and Ouida
It is with great pleasure that the Faculty of Social Sciences awarded the 2023 Recognition Award to Hubert Marleau. This award is given to a friend of the Faculty who demonstrates leadership by contributing to the reputation of the faculty and has positively impacted the student experience through their actions and dedication.

With over 45 years of experience in the investment and financial community, Mr. Marleau is a leading figure in Canada’s financial community. He was governor of the Montreal and Vancouver stock exchanges, director of the listing committee for the Toronto Stock Exchange and a director with the Investment Dealers Association of Canada. He has also worked at the senior executive level of several large investment banks, notably Nesbitt Thomson Inc., Levesque Beaubien Inc. and Marleau, Lemire Inc. In addition to being a current or past board member of over 50 publicly traded companies, he has raised funds privately and publicly for hundreds of emerging and mature companies, structured numerous mergers and acquisitions, and driven numerous financial deals in Canada. Mr. Marleau graduated from the University of Ottawa in 1967 with an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences in Economics.
