2020 winners – President’s Awards for Service Excellence
Each year, the president awards six prizes in recognition of employees and teams who have demonstrated consistently high levels of service excellence. This year however, due to the COVID-19 context, the President's Award for Service Excellence was virtually awarded to all staff.
“We have given a lot of thought to the President's Awards and, in my humble opinion, it is an impossible exercise this year. First, because you, all the employees, have been remarkable in your ability to respond quickly to the COVID-19 crisis. Thanks to you, we were able to end the 2019-2020 academic year on a positive note. You have shown exceptional resilience this year, individually and collectively. Not just in facing the pandemic, but in all of the many other challenges we have dealt with this year. Despite those challenges, and despite our differences, we are strong and we will always be stronger together,” said Rector Mr. Frémont.
The University has been able to offer spring and summer 2020 terms, and the new 2020-2021 academic year has started off safely and relatively smoothly for students, faculty, and staff. As the University of Ottawa is dedicated to improving the student experience, this is reflected in the comparable enrollment data between 2019 and 2020.
Good job to everyone! We should be proud of uOttawa!
