1972 - Paul Henderson scores the most famous goal in hockey history. The Watergate scandal breaks. Intel introduces the microchip. Swedish pop group ABBA releases its first album. And uOttawa’s Morisset Library opens its doors.

Back then, there were 19,000 students enrolled at uOttawa. Today there are more than 45,000.  We’ve moved from card catalogues to Omni, from microfiche to e-journals. Over the years, every floor of the Morisset Library has been revamped to create study spaces that meet students’ changing needs.

2022 - Fifty years on, the Morisset Library is still evolving. This fall the Library is embarking on a Library Space and Design Plan to provide vision and a plan for renewal for all library spaces over the next 25 years. It will be the roadmap to a future of imagination and innovation, where the library continues to be an engine for research, a place for engagement, and a quiet refuge.
