On October 26, 2023, Dr. Michael Geist and Dr. Teresa Scassa, Faculty members of the University of Ottawa's Centre for Law, Technology and Society, appeared before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry and Technology, as part of their study of Bill C-27, the Consumer Privacy Protection Act and the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act.

On October 26, 2023, Dr. Michael Geistand Dr. Teresa Scassa, Faculty members of the University of Ottawa's Centre for Law, Technology and Society, appeared before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry and Technology, as part of their study of Bill C-27, the Consumer Privacy Protection Act and the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act.

Dr. Micheal Geist and Teresa Scassa offered the committee their expertise on Bill C-27 and the shortcomings of the proposed legal frameworks.

Dr. Michael Geist is the Canada Research Chair in Internet and e-Commerce Law, a Faculty member at the Centre for Law, Technology and Society, and a Full Professor in the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Teresa Scassa is the Canada Research Chair in Information Law and Policy, a Faculty member et the Centre for Law, Technology and Society, and a Full Professor in the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section at the University of Ottawa.
