About the event
As part of the 91st ACFAS conference, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Citizenship and Minorities (CIRCEM) at the University of Ottawa is organizing a series of plenary sessions on the theme "Mobilizing Knowledge in French". They will take place on May 13 and 14, 2024.
A dynamic field of research, the literature on epistemic injustices focuses on the various inequalities and injustices related to the acquisition, sharing and recognition of certain knowledge, and the close links between these inequalities and power relations. Although many feminist and decolonial writings have explored many facets of the phenomena in question, Miranda Fricker's seminal work, Epistemic Injustice (2007), has provided a well-defined analytical framework for the topic—which has been taken up, critiqued, and amended by many over the past decade.
