As part of the Alumni Week, the Centre for Law, Technology and Society at the University of Ottawa  invites you to:

Online bullying, identity theft, malware or child pornography: our virtual space is increasingly under attack. Are individuals and states able to ensure their cybersecurity and overcome these threats?

With the number of new technologies continuing to rise, come hear how experts in the field are developing solutions through research.

Panelists:

  • Florian Martin-Bariteau, LLD, is an assistant professor of law and technology in the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section, and director of the Centre for Law, Technology and Society at the University of Ottawa. His research deals primarily with technology and intellectual property law, with a particular interest in property, trademarks, secrets and whistleblowers.
  • Antoine Normand(LLL 1996), is an entrepreneur. He foundedBlueBear, a business that offers police a range of tools to fight online exploitation of children and to identify those associated with these crimes and other matters.
  • Jean-François Sauriol (MEng 1993) of Ottawa’s SecurityJF will discuss his more than 25 years of experience in cybersecurity. He will also offer advice to parents about online bullying.
