The Music and Health Research Institute student events give students a chance to present their research to fellow institute members, as well as learn from workshops and webinars.
Winter Schedule
Student Research in Focus Colloquia
During these sessions, student members of the Institute will have the opportunity to share their research projects with faculty and fellow students from various disciplines and receive feedback on their projects at formative stages. The colloquium dates for the winter term are as follows:
- January 26th, 2024, 1:00-2:15pm EST
- February 23rd, 2024, 1:00-2:15pm EST
- April 5th, 2024, 1:00-2:15pm EDT

Do you have graduate research ready to present? The Training and Mentoring Team is looking for MHRI graduate students who are interested in giving a 20-minute presentation of their research to other MHRI students. Presenters will also get feedback from MHRI professors. The Student Research in Focus Colloquia are a great opportunity to present works in progress, literature reviews, thesis proposals, or completed projects awaiting publication. Research Toolbox Webinar
This series of webinars is offered by professors in the Institute and is geared towards equipping students with information about methodological, analytical, and paradigmatic challenges of conducting interdisciplinary research at the intersection of topics in music. The webinar presented this term is:

Student Social Events
The MHRI Virtual Sharing Sessions provide an opportunity for all MHRI Students to engage in substantive discussions, exchange research ideas, share common interests, and discuss their academic journey. Some sessions have specific discussion themes depending on students' needs.

- April 12th, 2024, 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm EST
The MHRI Student's In-Person Social Gatherings are events tailored to foster genuine interpersonal connections among MHRI students. These casual events are accompanied by light refreshments and provide an opportunity to network and establish valuable connections. These face-to-face meetings are instrumental in deepening personal relationships and creating an enjoyable academic environment.
