The Institute has developed a communication plan to ensure the dissemination of research outcomes to scholars, graduate students, community partners, end-users and the public.

Organization of events

A successful approach for knowledge mobilization relies on the organization of events that will target researchers, university students, health care professionals, music educators, as well as the private, public, and non-profit sectors. Our events aim to engage a diverse range of individuals, and will therefore encourage an interaction between theoretical, practical and experiential knowledge.

Here are some key events of the Institute:

  • Speaker Series: The aim of this series is to explore various subfields of music and health with a guest speaker.

  • Symposium on Musicians’ Health: In partnership with MusCan, the Institute is hosting this annual event for researchers and health care professionals. This is an opportunity to work closely together, to share ideas and participate in the creation of new knowledge.

  • Conference on Music and Health: In collaboration with our partner organizations, the Institute hosts an annual conference to feature the research conducted at the Institute and to highlight the work of our members and partners.

  • The Institute also happily joins forces with our partners to host or promote events related to music and health.

Social media series

  • Fact Fridays: Every Friday the Institute posts a summary of a peer reviewed research article in a format accessible to individuals of a variety of backgrounds.

  • Student Research Synopsis: This series highlights the research projects of the Institute's students to disseminate their work to a wide audience.

  • Partnership Series: In recent months, the institute has established several new partnerships with organizations in the field of music and health. The Knowledge Mobilization working group is developing a new series on social media showcasing these organizations and the valuable work they do in their communities.
