The Standing Committee on the Prevention of Sexual Violence and the Human Rights Office invite everyone in the uOttawa community to participate in an online public consultation on updating Policy 67b – Prevention of Sexual Violence. From June 2 to 27, 2025, you can fill out a short, anonymous survey consisting of eight questions on the Policy update.

Your voice matters! We all have a part to play in building a healthier, safer campus.
 

Update highlights

The update of Policy 67b is meant to improve how sexual violence prevention is managed and how related disclosures and complaints are processed at the University. Your answers to the survey questions will help guide us in finalizing the Policy.

The new version of the Policy will include:

  • a reorganization of the sections to make the complaint process and definitions more visible (in appendixes)
  • information on follow-up services available to survivors
  • information on options for filing a complaint and on parties’ rights
  • clarifications on the official complaint process and the Appeal Committee
  • a change to the timing of reviews
  • updates to definitions
     

Confidentiality

The survey results will remain anonymous. Any personal information collected will remain confidential under the authority of the University of Ottawa Act, 1965, and in accordance with Ontario’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. This information will be used only to help finalize updates to Policy 67b.
