Through the lens of our infinitely evolving digital space, the urge to maximize workplace efficiency is strong. Utilizing every function of every new innovative online tool and software system can be challenging in addition to other workplace demands. This is especially true in academic research.

UNIWeb is a bilingual academic and research discovery network and a CV management system designed to simplify academic workflows and reuse data.  Researchers at the University began to use this software almost 15 years ago.  Since then, the UNIWeb software has undergone many improvements and can now help simplify academic workflows by reusing data for multiple purposes like Web profiles, academic CVs and reports and it even includes an advanced integration with the Canadian Common CV for grant applications.  Soon, it will also be used for media relations purposes and expert references.  Finally, IT is planning the upgrade of UNIWeb to version 3 that will contain a new design and advanced functionalities.  All researchers are strongly encouraged to create their profile and keep their bilingual information current.

In parallel to UNIWeb, IT is implementing a new solution to facilitate the creation of researchers’ websites.  This new tool will be integrated with UNIWeb via an up-to-date and intuitive website builder. providing ease of access for researchers to reuse and repurpose their UNIWeb information when they eventually build their research websites.  The new Websites builder will be launched over the Summer 2023.   More details on this new service offer will be coming over the next several months.

For any questions or concerns regarding the use of UNIWeb, or other research software, you can submit a Topdesk request. or contact Paul MercierResearch IT Senior Manager, for more information.
