We're hosting a variety of virtual orientation sessions for new international students. Get to know your Regional Mentor, have all your questions about university answered, and connect with other new students from your region!

How to prepare for university
Fall 2025 incoming students, their family members and legal guardians are invited to connect and seek advice from our regional mentors, who have been through the experience before. This is a great way to meet fellow students from your region who will also be starting their studies at the University of Ottawa in the fall.

Immigration 101
This session will cover essential topics such as your study permit conditions and the need to comply with them and maintaining your legal status in Canada.

University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP)
This session will explain University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) coverage, including doctor and hospital visits, as well as the additional health and dental insurance plans for undergraduate and graduate students.
