We’re thrilled to announce that the University of Ottawa has won a silver award from OHS Canada for Best Safety Communications Program!

Over the past 12 months, we have spread the word that safety is everyone’s responsibility. We have done so through the President’s safety message, the launch of our Occupational Health and Safety Management System, a survey of the culture of safety, efforts to leverage popular culture (e.g., safety in a Star Wars universe), and a unique take on recognizing our community’s health and safety efforts by designating a monthly safety champion.

This silver award testifies not only to the hard work and dedication of the Occupational Health and Safety and Communications teams, but also to the efforts of every member of our campus community who made safety a priority and spread the word to others. We congratulate all team members for their outstanding contributions and accomplishments.

We remain committed to maintaining and enhancing our high standards of occupational health and safety to ensure a safe and secure environment for all. This award motivates us to achieve the highest levels of safety in every aspect of our operations.
