Test objective
Demonstrate proficiency in written French to meet the requirements of the Teacher Education Program - Technological Education and the requirements of Ontario's French-language school boards.
Test components
- Identify twenty errors
- Answer five comprehension questions
- Argumentative text of 180 to 200 words
Duration: 2 hours
Test preparation
- Practice writing a variety of 200-word texts in 75 minutes
- Review the characteristics of a letter
- Review basic grammar rules.
- Consult reference books containing the correction of anglicisms, barbarisms
- Consult websites offering grammar exercises, such as:
Evaluation criteria
- Usage and grammatical spelling
- Punctuation
- Choice of words and expressions
- Sentence structure
- Correct use of pronouns
- Correct use of verb tenses
- Organization of ideas
- Text structure
- Adaptation to audience
- Respect of the writing intention
- Adaptation of the language level to the particular situation
- Respect for the length of the text
Results
- Result of 80% or more: full pass
- Result between 60% and 79%: Partial pass - required to take the PED 1599 refresher course and pass the PED 1599 exam
- Result below 59%: Failed - will result in rejection from the program

- No second chances
