Event details

Join Dean Jacques Beauvais in a fireside chat with Ita Richardson, Software Engineering professor from the University of Limerick (Ireland) to discuss the Athena Swan program, a program used across the globe to address gender equality.

As an introduction to this fireside chat, Professor Ita Richardson will present on the importance of diversity in the Universities, and how not considering diversity reduces the talent pool for organisations. She will discuss how both the implementation of Athena SWAN by the Higher Education Authority in Ireland, its endorsement by Irish funding agencies, and the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Act (2014) have supported a shift in the consideration of Diversity in our teaching and our research.
