About the Law Practice Program

The Law Practice Program (LPP) is an eight-month internship that fulfills the experiential training requirement for the Law Society of Ontario's Access to the Practice of Law Process. Designed for holders of a law degree (JD or equivalent) who wish to obtain a license to practice law in Ontario, the LPP is equivalent to a traditional internship.

The LPP is offered entirely in French and covers more than a dozen areas of law. It includes a professional internship. With support from the legal community and an immersive learning approach, the LPP effectively prepares future lawyers to excel in their careers.

The LPP is designed to reflect the reality of practice rather than academia and promotes the development of the skills and competencies required by the Law Society of Ontario.

The Law Practice Program (LPP) at the University of Ottawa serves as an access pathway for Francophones, promoting access to justice in French through four core values:
