Department of Innovation in Medical Education

The Department of Innovation in Medical Education (DIME) is a new, non-clinical department in the Faculty of Medicine that offers teaching, research and scholarship in the area of medical education. DIME promotes innovation and advances in medical education scholarship and enables and evaluates breakthrough advances across the medical education continuum.

DIME’s goal is to be the University of Ottawa’s primary resource for expertise in medical education research, with a mandate to support education and educational scholarship in clinical medicine locally, nationally and internationally.

On December 1, 2022, at the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre, Dr. Wafa Djerboua received the Professional Competency Award presented to a faculty member who has demonstrated a high level of professionalism in the Francophone stream. She was among 115 learners and teaching personnel from Basic Science Undergraduate Studies (Translational and Molecular Medicine), postdoctoral studies, postgraduate and undergraduate medical education who were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements in 2022. The Division of Clinical and Functional Anatomy congratulates Dr. Djerboua on her achievements!
