PharmD

Beginning in the fall of 2023, we will be offering the first ever undergraduate Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program in French outside Quebec. The goal of this program? To train future pharmacists who can practice:

  • In community or hospital settings

  • In healthcare teams or ambulatory clinics

  • In the pharmaceutical industry or regulatory agencies

  • In academia

Steeped in the unique context of French Ontario and offered within the largest bilingual – English and French – university in the world, this pharmacy program will allow you to study in French while evolving in a bilingual environment. We also offer a research-oriented environment and a long history of health education experience in French as part of the uOttawa's PharmD program.

With 144 credits over 4 years and 40 weeks of practical training, our program offers a wide variety of courses, labs, team learning sessions and workshops. The most innovative learning principles and elements have been incorporated, including:

  • Competency-based approach

  • Active and experiential learning

  • Spiral learning progression

  • Interprofessionalism

Technomise

TECHNOMISE (TECHNOlogies for MIcrobiome Science and Engineering) is a collaborative training program in microbiome sciences and professional development. TECHNOMISE is funded by the CREATE program of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. Students from the University of Ottawa, Université de Montréal and Université Laval participate in the program.
