Professor Chica is interested in the development of new proteins with useful properties for applications in chemistry and biology, such as enzymes for synthesis of valuable chemicals and biosensors for in vivo imaging. To do so, Dr. Chica develops cutting-edge computational protein design algorithms.
In the laboratory, he specializes in experimental protein chemistry, the study of enzymes, and molecular modelling.
