The University of Ottawa comes alive again this fall as new and returning students settle into their academic year. For some, this will be an entirely new experience, and perhaps the first time away from home. For others, the first week of the Fall session marks the beginning of new goals, ambitions and projects.

uOttawa always ensures that students feel welcome during this time. Buzzing with events, Welcome Week offers services to new students, returning students and the entire University of Ottawa community. This is your time to discover all the great things uOttawa has to offer! So enjoy the ride!

Here is a sample of what to expect during Welcome Week, from September 3 to 11.

Movies under the Stars

As night falls, head over to the lawn in front of Tabaret Hall on Tuesday, September 8, for an open-air movie night featuring “Avengers: the Age of Ultron” . Bring your friends, lawn chairs and blankets to spend an evening under the stars watching a movie on the big screen! (The movie will be shown in English only)

Students at an outdoor event

Have you heard of parkour?

Parkour is the art of moving from one place to another using three fundamental motor skills, namely running, jumping and climbing, in all their variations. Fans of extreme stunts will be amazed by the daredevil demonstrations put on by Nitro Parkour, a group of expert professionals who will take over the University campus for three days during Welcome Week. Check out the schedule and locations here.

Join us for the best summer party!

Come celebrate the start of a new school year at uO Picnik, the first major urban picnic at uOttawa on the lawn of Tabaret Hall. Enjoy great weather, electronic beats with Montreal duo Beat Market, and great food truck eats!

This event will take place on Thursday September 10, from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. See you there?
