Over the past 75 years, the University of Ottawa has quietly built one of the top medical schools in the country. We graduate first-class medical doctors and researchers and have improved the health of people across Canada and around the world with our high-octane and collaborative approach to research. But in a world that scrambled to meet the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we can, and must, do so much more.

The health of our communities is interconnected. That’s why we are building ecosystems, not empires. We need curiosity and conversations, and we need more of what uOttawa has always done so well: collaboration.

The Advanced Medical Research Centre

We have a plan. It begins with a vision for an Advanced Medical Research Centre. Imagine a sandbox of ideas, people and science coming together in one multi-storey building located alongside the Roger Guindon building on the Alta-Vista campus. Imagine conversations that transform the way we think about science, engineering and human behaviour.
