Event description
Dr. Travis Pickett will be giving a presentation titled Cochlear Implants and Music Perception. His presentation will include a brief overview of the auditory system, what a cochlear implant is, and how they help people experiencing hearing loss to hear. He will then discuss what the music-listening experience is like for CI users, such as how the various elements of music (e.g., rhythm, melody, timbre) are likely perceived.

Dr. Travis Pickett is currently a third-year resident physician training in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (ENT) at The Ottawa Hospital and CHEO, with supervision at CHEO from MHRI member, Dr. Ryan Rourke.
