Biography

Faisal Al-Kamali has a B.Sc. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the university of Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq (2001), a M.Sc. (2008) and Ph.D. (2011) in Communication Engineering from the University of Minufiya, Egypt.

He joined the Electrical Engineering Department, at the University of Ibb, Ibb, Yemen in 2011 as an Assistant Professor and became Associate Professor in January 2017. Since November 2021, he has been a visiting scholar in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa .

He worked as a head of the Electrical Engineering Department in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Ibb from 2013-2014 and as a Vice Dean of the Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ibb from 2018-2020. He is coauthor of one book and more than 40 articles. His research interests are in physical layer technologies for wireless communication systems such as interference cancellation, channel equalization and channel estimation, image transmission over wireless communication systems, hybrid precoding, mmWave and massive MIMO systems.

Faisal Al-Kamali was a recipient of the prize of supervising the best graduation project in Ibb University in 2016.
