The Institute attaches great importance to its partnerships with affiliated organizations (e.g., community-based organizations, not-for-profit organizations, industry groups, health organizations, music schools). Through its partnership with various organizations, the Institute aims to stimulate engagement with music professionals, health clinicians, and community members to support research, education and outreach activities. Knowledge users and stakeholders are essential collaborators to ensure that our research is geared towards public need.
Partner organizations are expected to contribute to the Institute by engaging in research and participating in the Institute’s activities through research development, knowledge exchange, knowledge implementation, training and mentoring, and/or partnerships.
The vision of the Music and Health Research Institute is to explore the interactions between music and health, and to develop solutions that can improve well-being for individuals and communities.
Additionally, partner organizations typically integrate into the Music and Health Research Institute by:
actively participating in the planning and implementation of the Institute’s activities by joining a committee or a working group, and/or
being actively involved in at least one of the Institute’s research initiatives / areas
