Ontario Professional Planners Institute: 2016 Excellence in Planning Award
The Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) has awarded uOttawa’s Campus Master Plan a 2016 Excellence in Planning Award. Nominated in the Urban / Community Design category, the award recognizes high caliber work by professional planners in Ontario communities and excellence in all aspects of planning.

The Canadian Institute of Planners: 2016 Award of Excellence
The Canadian Institute of Planners have selected uOttawa's Master Plan's "Design Guidelines and Precinct Plans" for a 2016 Award of Excellence in the category of urban design. The CIP annual Awards for Planning Excellence honour planning projects judged on their excellence, innovation, impact on the profession, implementation potential and overall presentation.

Royal Architectural Institute of Canada: 2016 National Urban Design Award
The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada awarded a 2016 National Urban Design Awards Certificate of Merit to the Campus Master Plan. Nominated in the category of Urban Design Plans, the Master Plan was selected based on its clarity of presentation, innovative approach, and comprehensiveness. The award recognises plans “of high inspirational value with the potential for significant impact on the city’s sustainability or development”.

Canadian Society of Landscape Architects: 2016 National Award of Excellence (PD…
The Canadian Society of Landscape Architects awarded a 2016 National Award of Excellence to the Campus Master Plan. Nominated in the category of Planning & Analysis - Large Scale Design, the Plan was selected based on several criteria, including demonstrations of excellence, innovation, and exemplary environmental and / or social awareness. The awards “celebrate work that is inspiring, exhilarating, and remarkably diverse” and “honour distinctive design, ground-breaking research, [and] sustainable landscape management.”

Canada Green Building Council, Ottawa Chapter: 2018 Green Building Award
uOttawa has received a Green Building Award from the Canada Green Building Council, Ottawa chapter, for the Faculty of Social Sciences building, the campus’ first LEED Gold facility. It won in the “Excellence in Green Building – Existing Building” category.

2015 Minister’s Award for Environmental Excellence
Facilities are the recipient of a 2015 Minister’s Award for Environmental Excellence for our Clean Air Community Initiative, which consisted of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 33,100 tonnes since 2007 by retrofitting infrastructure to reduce natural gas and electricity usage on campus.
