This general workshop is only the beginning of your lab safety journey. Your supervisor is responsible for ensuring that you receive the necessary lab‑, equipment‑ and procedure-specific information and instruction relevant to your role. Further instruction and training may be received through University-developed workshops (such as Biosafety or Spill Response Training) or through direct interaction with your supervisor.

As depicted in the key lessons learned from the examples presented in this workshop, there is much to be done to ensure the health and safety of the University community.

If you still have questions about lab safety or the University health and safety program, please raise any concerns with your direct supervisor first. Any lingering questions may be raised through any number of resources, including unions, faculty health, safety and risk managers (HSRMs), health and safety committees or the Office of the Chief Risk Officer

Successful completion of this online workshop requires that you follow all modules, log in and complete the quiz. Only successful completion of the knowledge assessment will record your mark in the LRS system.
