Forensic Science Bootcamp (Full)
Every Saturday from October 31 to November 27, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.
Step into the world of a crime scene investigator with the role of forensic scientist and piece together evidence using authentic investigative techniques. Participants will analyze mock crime scenes, collect and examine fingerprints, study blood spatter patterns, test trace evidence, and chromatography among other processes. Through rigorous scientific methodology and critical thinking, they will work through mock case studies, teams will document evidence, analyze data, and present findings. Dress for the lab, think like a detective, and follow the evidence where it leads.
Electrical and Computer Engineering Bootcamp

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Bootcamp invites participants to explore the foundations of electrical engineering and computer engineering through hands-on, interactive activities spanning electronics, circuit design, and power systems. Participants will design and test electrical circuits using online electronics simulators, experiment with components and logic, and discover how the devices we rely on every day actually work. Ideal for curious minds who want to understand what's happening inside the devices, networks, and machines that shape our world.
Microcontroller Bootcamp
Every Saturday from February 27 to March 27, 2027, from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.
Bring code to life in the Microcontroller Bootcamp, where participants learn to program the tiny computers that power everything from smart gadgets to robots. Using platforms like Arduino, micro:bit, Phidgets, Sphero, and the Climate Action Kit, students will build and program interactive projects that sense, move, and respond to the world around them. Participants will work through sensors, actuators, and block- or text-based coding to bring their ideas to life. Ideal for curious tinkerers ready to move beyond screens and into the world of physical computing.
Technovation Girls Ottawa
The Technovation Girls Ottawa club runs from January 30 to May 15, 2027, and is open to students in grades 8 to 12. The club meets weekly on Wednesdays and three Saturdays for a kick-off event, coding sessions, and a pitch presentation in Montreal.
Girls and feminine-aligned non-binary youth work with mentors to build a mobile app, gathering in person at the University of Ottawa for hands-on workshops and independent project time to develop their app ideas and business plans. Participation is free, and all girls (cis and trans) as well as non-binary youth comfortable in female-centred spaces are welcome.
