Through different activities, such as chemistry experiments, robotics, physics challenges, 3D modeling and programming, camp participants will have a chance to learn and discover many aspects of science and engineering.

Our camps

Offered at uOttawa only.
For the first time ever, uOttawa Engineering Outreach Summer Camps and Gee-Gees Camps are partnering to offer STEM & Sports camps. Participants in these one-of-a-kind camps will spend 50% of their day doing STEM activities and the other 50% playing sports. It’s a great opportunity for kids to discover and learn through engineering, technology and science projects while staying active and playing different sports. This camp will be open to kids in grades 2, 3, or 4 during the week of July 24 to 28, 2023 (STEM & Sports 1) and to kids in grades 5 or 6 during the week of July 31 to August 4, 2023 (STEM & Sports 2).

Offered at various locations.
The EngSci summer camp will be offered to kids from kindergarten to Grade 6. Campers will be separated into three different groups (yellow, orange or red) according to their ages. The EngSci camp will offer a mix of technology, engineering, and science activities. Older EngSci participants doing the camp on campus will have access to the University’s science laboratories (biology and chemistry).

Offered at uOttawa only.
The GirlSci camp is very similar to the EngSci camp but is designed to address the under-representation of women in STEM fields. The goal is to provide a favourable environment for girls in grades 2, 3, or 4 to discover the wonders and merits of science and engineering.

Offered at uOttawa only.
During the MiniMed camp, participants from grades 4 to 6 will have an opportunity to discover the fascinating world of medicine. Campers will explore different aspects of this wonderful profession through various clinical skills and will be introduced to certain medical aspects by conducting chemistry experiments, using microscopes, and modelling in 3D.

Offered at various locations.
The EngTech camp is designed for children in grades 4 through 7. Participants will learn more about coding and robotics, and will perform 3D modelling, coding, and micro:bit activities, among others.

Offered at uOttawa only.
The MakerGirls camp is very similar to the EngTech camp, but is specifically designed for girls in grades 4 through 7. Over the course of the week, the girls will learn more about coding and robotics, and will perform 3D modelling, coding, and micro:bit activities, among others.

Schedule: Summer 2023

Please visit our registration page to check whether spaces in a given camp are still available.

Numbers 1 through 4 are used to distinguish between camp weeks. For example, there are four different weeks of EngSci. The format and schedule are the same each week, but the projects differ from week to week. Therefore, a camper could participate in four consecutive weeks of EngSci without repeating the same projects.

Please note we are closed on July 3, 2023 (Canada Day statutory holiday) and August 7, 2023 (Ontario civic holiday).
