Biography

Dr. Michelle Anawati is a Francophone community family physician with active privileges at the Hôpital Montfort. A graduate of the University of Ottawa’s medicine program, she continued her studies in family medicine by completing her residency at the Hôpital Montfort in 2012. She is currently director of the clerkship program—Francophone stream, assistant director of curriculum renewal at the UGME level in the Faculty of Medicine, representative of the Faculty of Medicine on the board of directors of the Canadian Association for Medical Education, member of the Institut du Savoir Montfort, member of Francophone Affairs and assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Anawati practices family medicine in the community and is particularly interested in the determinants of health that stem from her experience and master’s degree in social work. Recipient of the Award in Education for Collaborator Competency from the Faculty of Medicine in 2017, the Award in Education for Manager Competency and the Award in Education for Professional Competency in 2020 and the Award for the Promotion of Francophonie in 2022, Dr. Anawati enjoys collaborating with students and preceptors from the Francophone community to highlight the important role they play in patient care and advancement of medical education.
