Since 1990 the Department of Radiology at the University of Ottawa has delegated an annual event to acknowledge and honor the research successes of our residents, Fellows, faculty and other trainees affiliated with our university department. In 2016, The University of Ottawa Department of Radiology Research Day was subsequentially renamed to the Dr. Cheemun Lum Radiology Research Day. Dr. Lum was one of our leading researchers in the Department of Radiology and the uOttawa Brain and Mind Research Institute, and an esteemed physician at The Ottawa Hospital.

The focus of the Dr. Cheemun Lum Radiology Research Day are trainees’ presentations. Submitted Abstracts are reviewed based on scientific merit and originality and ranked via a competitive review board. Top Abstracts are selected for oral podium presentation or electronic poster presentation. On research day, all presentations are judged by an expert panel with awards presented based on methodology, relevance and overall presentation.
