Despite the stress and the amount of work these assignments caused me, I came out a winner, as the embarrassment and discomfort of speaking in front of groups had no choice but to dissipate.

Furthermore, for the feminist and curious woman that I am, this internship is an opportunity to learn a little more about the world and about myself, while contributing to causes that are close to my heart.

Let’s just say I had always dreamed of experiencing this in person—fully immersed in every sense of the word.

The Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies welcomes new SSHRC postdoctoral fellow Dr. Linda Mussell, who began her two-year term in September. Dr. Mussell recently completed her PhD in the Department of Political Studies at Queen’s University.
