Dr. Baptiste Lacoste’s Team Reports on Blood Vessels in the Autistic Brain

uOBMRI’s Dr. Baptiste Lacoste leads a team at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute in their investigations of blood vessels in the autistic brain.

In their new publication, they report that blood vessel problems in a mouse model of autism syndrome cause excessive glucose metabolism in the brain, which seems to originate from reduced number of mitochondria in vascular cells. Read the publication in Cell Reports here.
