Teacher Education (B.Ed.)

Confident and competent French as a second language (FSL) teachers are in great demand in Ontario and across Canada. Our specialized FSL teacher preparation program aims to support your passion for language learning across the curriculum and enhance your linguistic and cultural proficiency in novel and experiential ways. Come join our FSL community at the Faculty of Education!

Teacher Education (B.Ed.) - French as a Second Language is open to candidates from all three divisions (P/J, J/I and I/S). Building community with FSL teacher candidates and professors from all divisions is a high priority for us at the Faculty of Education. In our program, future FSL teachers receive a uniquely bilingual experience! As an FSL teacher candidate, you and your colleagues will take several courses offered en français, and attend a variety of workshops about important developments in the field of FSL in Ontario/Canada, and participate in cultural activities in Ottawa – all while using French in a supportive environment. Click here for information on our FSL communities of practice at the Faculty of Education and FSL-related events and resources, including our free offering of DELF Correcteur Training for FSL teacher candidates!
