The mission of the Faculty of Health Sciences is to promote teaching excellence in a diverse, inclusive environment.

In keeping with our strategic plan, we wish to allocate the necessary resources to correct current socioeconomic disparities in admissions. We’re reserving one place for people of low socioeconomic status in each School of Rehabilitation Sciences master’s program. It’s a first step to reducing barriers, promoting equity and ensuring equal access for applicants.

To apply under this initiative:

  • You must meet the admission requirements for the program of study in question.
  • You must follow the general application and selection processes.
  • Your parents’ or legal guardians’ total income before taxes when you were in Grade 11 and 12 must be equal to or less than $60,000 as per Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) data (line 150 on the income tax return).
  • You must provide additional financial documents, namely, the notice of assessment for each parent or legal guardian issued by the CRA for this period, when you complete your OMSAS application. You can obtain these documents from the CRA.
  • You must submit the Social Accountability Initiative Application Form (PDF, 161 KB).

Notes

  • All submitted information and documentation must be truthful and verifiable. Sharing false information will lead to your applications for the Social Accountability Initiative and to the program of study you’ve chosen being rejected.
  • If you completed high school in Quebec, you must provide the additional financial documents for the years in which you were in Secondary IV and V.
  • All documents are due by the OMSAS application deadline. No exceptions will be made for late submissions.
