The Faculty of Medicine’s Centre for Innovation in Medical Education (CiMED) offers a variety of educational events throughout the year.

CiMED Medical Education Journal Club

The CiMED Medical Education Journal Club (MEJC) is a community of practice of individuals interested in reviewing medical education articles in a relaxed and inclusive setting. At this event, we review two articles on a specific topic chosen by an expert discussant.

We meet every two months on a Tuesday evening at one of the clinician educators’ home in a very convivial atmosphere. Once or twice a year, the MEJC will collaborate virtually with another Medical Education institution to expand our horizons and work with international experts.

Everyone with an interest in Medical Education is welcome.

CiMED Rocket Rounds

Rocket rounds are research in progress rounds for any medical education related project. These rounds will be held quarterly and provide junior and senior teachers and scholars in health professions education an opportunity to present ideas, works in progress and challenges they are facing in trying to move from an idea to scholarship.

These interactive sessions will allow an exchange of ideas and tap into the collective wisdom of the CiMED and DIME communities.

Format: Sessions will have two presenters each having 10-15 minutes to present their idea or challenge with 15 minutes of feedback from the group.

Who can attend: Open to all members of the Faculty of Medicine, Health Sciences and Education.

Ground rules: No idea is too big or too small!

Want to attend: Contact Krystyna Hacking at [email protected]

Want to present: Contact Susan Humphrey-Murto at [email protected]
