Dr. Emillio Alarcon

Alarcon’s lab studies the development of biomaterials for new therapies with translational components for the treatment of damaged cardiac tissue, cornea and skin. The lab is also developing new nano-structures to overcome the current limitations of biomimetic tissue scaffolds for regenerative medicine.

The Alarcon lab supervises students from the programs in Biochemistry and  Microbiology, as well as other programs related to Tissue Engineering, Nanomaterials, and Regenerative Medicine.
