Differential Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship for international students studying in French

Important
InformationThis differential tuition fee exemption is no longer offered. Students beginning studies in September 2021 or later can receive a Differential Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship.

Students who began studies prior to September 2021 and received a differential tuition fee exemption can continue to receive it if they meet the renewal criteria.

Keeping your differential tuition fee exemption

Undergraduate programs

To keep your differential tuition fee exemption until the end of your program, you must:

  • be enrolled full-time every term (except for Spring-Summer, when you can enrol part time), and
  • enrol in at least three courses taught in French per term (9 units).

Graduate programs

To keep your differential tuition fee exemption until the end of your program, you must:

  • be enrolled full time every term
  • for programs that offer compulsory courses in both official languages (English and French), enrol in the courses offered in French

Estimating your costs

Starting in the Fall 2022 term, if you’ve received a differential tuition exemption, your tuition fees will be the same as those for Canadian students residing outside Ontario.
