Coaching Support for Early Career Professors (2023-2024)

The Office of the Vice-Provost, Faculty Relations is excited to offer a new coaching program designed to support 15 early career professors in their professional academic journey.

Description

The program comprises three individual online sessions with a seasoned professional, each lasting 60 minutes. Discussions can have a strategical or practical approach. That is, the objective can be to provide guidance on balancing teaching, research, and academic service activities, in order to prepare for future tenure and promotion applications, or they can focus on the preparation and revision of your upcoming application file for promotion and tenure.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a full-time, early career professor (Assistant Professor, or non-tenured Associate Professor).
  • Must be available for three meetings during the 2023-2024 academic year as follows:
    • Fall Term: November or December
    • Winter Term: February or March
    • Spring Term: April or May
  • Must provide a professional resume one week prior to the first meeting.
  • Must complete the format provided by the coach before the 2nd and 3rd meetings, and email it one week prior to each session.

About the coach

Dr. Pierre Trudel is an Emeritus Professor from the School of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, and an Associate Professor at the University of Laval. He is also a certified professional coach and mental performance consultant.
