Reading Week is the Perfect Time to Recharge
With the shift to distance learning, you may feel like you’re losing motivation in handling your workload. Read our tips on how to maximize your reading week relaxation and reignite your motivation!
To help you get there we suggest five ideas:
- Do some activities for yourself: It’s time to be selfish. Take time to do things that you love and that can help you get away from the stress of student life. Some activities could be to draw or paint, play an instrument, or play sports.
- Sleep in until the afternoon: Getting at least 8 hours of sleep is not a luxury that students can always afford during the semester. Take advantage of this week to make up for the lack of sleep and stay in bed as long as you would like, even if it’s until noon.
- Binge-watch: We can certainly treat ourselves to a few hours of binge-watching TV shows and movies without any guilt. Get comfortable in your pyjamas and settle in a cozy place, you deserve it!
- Take the time to stay healthy: Everybody knows that nothing is better than a healthy mind in a healthy body. Take some time for your health by cooking a good and healthy meal or by doing some outdoor physical activities before the snow falls. Staying physically healthy provides even more benefits to your mental health. Exercising is also known to help lower stress and help you feel better.
- Spend time with your friends and family: Whether you’re organizing outdoor activities or a small gathering with your immediate family, it is the best time to catch up with friends and family back home. Friends aren’t accessible in person? Schedule a facetime with them instead! It is often through sharing thoughts with friends and family that we recognize what motivates us in the first place.
Take advantage of this week to get back to a good pace, that is, staying healthy, organized and in a good mindset. We want to make sure that we are in the best position to take on our busy schedule after the week ends. It starts with how you decide to spend your reading week!
