The Ján Veizer Stable Isotope Laboratory is a partner laboratory in the Advanced Research Complex. The Veizer lab has developed new methods and provided analytical support in stable environmental isotope research to the Canadian and global isotope community for over three decades.
University of Ottawa - Canadian Museum of Nature MicroAnalysis Laboratory
The University of Ottawa - Canadian Museum of Nature MicroAnalysis Laboratory provides imaging and analytical services for academic, government and commercial users of eastern Ontario. The lab is equipped with two state- of-the-art analytical tools; a JEOL 8230 SuperProbe for quantitative chemical analyses and images of minerals, alloys, and other industrial products; and a JEOL 6610LV SEM used for observing and analyzing all types of solid samples including uncoated insulators and biological material.
University of Ottawa Geochemistry Laboratory
The University of Ottawa Geochemistry Laboratory provides chemical composition data for various media, including rock and soil samples, biological and experimental products.
Centre for Northern Studies (CEN)
The Centre for Northern Studies (CEN), hosted at Université Laval in Quebec City, has extensive facilities for preparing radiocarbon samples for AMS analysis. The Director of the CEN is Professor Michel Allard who leads research on carbon cycling in permafrost environments.
Terrestrial Cosmogenic Nuclide Facility
Our partner laboratory for Cosmogenic Nuclides is the Terrestrial Cosmogenic Nuclide Facility (TCN). Dr. John Gosse, Director of the DGC, is a Canada Research Chair in Cosmogenic Nuclides, conducting exposure age dating of Tertiary and Quaternary-aged landscapes in North America.
Isobarex Corp.
Isobarex Corp. is a Canadian scientific instrument company bringing its expertise in the Isobar Separator for Anions (ISA), a unique technology to suppress interfering isobars in AMS applications. The ISA was originally co-developed by IONICS Mass Spectrometry (Bolton, ON) and University of Toronto (IsoTrace Laboratory) with support through various NSERC programs.
