Professor Linda McLean

The International Urogynecology Association (IUGA) presents the Oscar Contreras Ortiz Award annual for the most significant publication in the International Urogynecology Journal, recognizing the lasting legacy of the journal's founder. This prestigious distinction was awarded to Professor McLean and her team for their publication “The Pathophysiology of Stress Urinary Incontinence: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.” Professor McLean's research, focused on improving the understanding of female pelvic floor function and pelvic health, exemplifies the impact this award seeks to recognize.

Jennifer O’Neil

Professor Jennifer O'Neil

Professor ONeils research in global health, digital health, and clinical implementation continues to improve access to technology-enabled rehabilitation for people with neurological disorders. For her contributions to advancing physiotherapy internationally through practice and research collaborations, Professor O'Neil received the Canadian Physiotherapy Associations Global Health Award. She also received the Emerging Community Researcher Award from Community-Based Research Canada for her engaging research approach with community groups in Canada and abroad.

Professor Marijke Taks

Professor Taks explores the socio-economic aspects of sport and leisure, with a particular focus on the impact of sport events and the behaviour of sport consumers. In recognition of her career achievements, she received the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) Research Fellow Award. This formal recognition is reserved for scholars who have made high-impact contributions to sport-related scholarship within the society.

Chibuike Udenigwe

Professor Chibuike Udenigwe

Professor Udenigwes significant contributions to the field of food biochemistry and sustainability have been widely recognized. He received prestigious accolades this year, earning the distinguished title of Fellow of the American Chemical Society Division of Agricultural and Food Chemistry and being elected as a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences; highlighting the international standing and impact of his research. Professor Udenigwe also received the 2024 Deans Award of Excellence in Research.
