The LendIt machine is available at the Faculty of Health Sciences Library at 200 Lees.

The LendIt machine is a self-service kiosk that provides easy access to resources allowing students and faculty to borrow books and course reserve items. It also lets all uOttawa community members pick up items placed on hold for them.

How to Use the LendIt Machine at Lees Library

Here’s a quick guide to using the LendIt machine. Watch the video below for step-by-step instructions on how to use it.

Borrow course reserve | Pick up items on hold

  • Select "Borrow" to view available books or "Hold Pickup" for reserved books.
  • Scan your student/employee card or enter the barcode number on your card manually. Then, enter your PIN.
  • Choose your book, confirm the loan, and collect it from the window.
  • Print a receipt if needed to know the book's due date.

NB: Reserve books are loaned for a period of 4, 24, or 48 hours, depending on the item. Check your receipt or your online library account for the date and time of the book's return.

Return a Book

  • Select Return and scan the library barcode on the sticker (Make sure to scan the barcode on the sticker, not the one on the book).
  • Place the book on the shelf when the machine opens (If you have many books to return, please return them one at a time).
  • Wait for the machine to put the book back inside before starting to return another book.

NB: Reserve books are immediately removed from your account, while others may take up to two days.
