The library offers a scan-on-demand service to support the teaching, learning and research needs of the University.

Who can use the service?

  • uOttawa faculty, students, post-doctoral fellows, affiliated researchers, staff, and alumni. 

What can be scanned? 

  • Most print and microform items in the library’s collection can be scanned. 

Can this service be used to share documents with students in a course? 

  • This service is only for scans intended for individual use. For course reserve scanning requests, please contact [email protected] 

 Are scans subject to copyright laws?

How does scan on demand work?

  • Find your item in Omni, view the details, 
  • Click the Scan on demand button. (Detailed instructions are in the How to use Omni guide). 
  • Complete and submit the request form.  
  • Within 1-3 days, library staff will make a PDF and send it to your uOttawa email.  
  • During busy times, scans may take a little longer to arrive in your email.
