Office of the Vice-Provost, Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
The Office of the Vice-Provost, Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, was created on January 1, 2017. Claire Turenne-Sjolander, former interim dean of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, will act as interim vice-provost until June 30, 2017.
The road to the new graduate studies structure first began in June 2015, when the Senate voted in favour of changing the management of graduate studies in an effort to not only simplify decision-making and transactional processes but also to broaden the responsibilities of faculties in order to bring decision making closer to the student. The Senate also supported the recommendation to create a central graduate studies office in order to preserve our internal expertise and maintain a presence both inside and outside the University.
